From the Gemelli Hospital, where tomorrow Pope Francis will mark one month since he was admitted, the Successor of Peter is marking 12 years as Christ's Vicar.

Jorge Bergoglio was elected March 13, 2013.

In the ensuing 12 years, he has often and in various ways encouraged the Church to grow in hope. Most especially, the Jubilee year under way is an opportunity that he has placed in the key of hope, choosing "Pilgrims of Hope" as the theme.

In honor of his 12th anniversary, we share some of the Pope's reflections on hope combined with some of the beautiful images captured by Aleteia's photographer in Rome, Antoine Mekary.

Enjoy, and join us in praying in thanksgiving for Pope Francis and for a growth in hope across the Church!
