Daily life for insurance agent José Lebron-Sanabria drastically changed the instant Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico on September 20, 2017. The Category 5 storm devastated the island, causing over $90 billion in damage with 100 percent power loss, leaving residents on a long and arduous journey of survival, recovery and reconstruction.

José, a husband, father and member of the Knights of Columbus, joined other Knights who rallied their communities to support those in need, proving once again that tragedies present opportunities to bring out the best in humanity.

The Knights of Columbus provided over $1 million in supplies and financial support for residents of the island … and continue to help those still affected.
