Let the founder of the Dominicans guide you and your children.

Today marks the 800-year anniversary of the death of St. Dominic, the founder of the Dominican Order. The Spanish saint was known for his preaching of the Word at a time when there was great disharmony in the Church.

The saint gathered followers who embraced his passion for living an apostolic way of life, And today his vision of a life founded on community and contemplative prayer seems just as important as it was those many years ago.

In fact, the basis of St. Dominic's beliefs also provides some great guidelines for parents raising their kids. So click on the slideshow below for a little Dominican inspiration on raising kind, thoughtful children who will grow to love their earthly family, and their heavenly family, too -- and who knows, they might even be inspired to join the Dominican Order one day!
