A few weeks ago I learned that my latest book, Little Sins Mean a Lot, was a finalist under consideration for an award (in the “Inspirational” category) by the Association of Catholic Publishers. I kept forgetting to acknowledge it on the blog, because life moves so quickly, but I just found out that “Little Sins” actually placed in that category, and I’m in sterling company between two greats — Dawn Eden (Remembering God’s Mercy) and Robert Ellsberg (Blessed Among Us).

Speaking of good company, the Association also recognized Paula Huston’s One Ordinary Sunday, one of Aleteia’s favorite books from last year!

The full list of winners can be found here, and between that list and the list of finalists, you may be able to create quite a nice summer-reading list.

Although, of course, we’ll be doing one of those here at Aleteia, too. People seemed very taken, last year, by our effort to match 7 books to 7 cocktails

Thanks again to the Association of Catholic Publishers who were kind enough to recognize Strange Gods a few years ago, and whom I never properly thanked due to being overwhelmed in Israel, and many thanks to my great editor, Bert Ghezzi, and the gang at OSV.

It is a privilege to be able to write for a living, and I am very cognizant of that fact. I am daily grateful that I can string words and thoughts together for however long God allows.
