Jesus had some very challenging words about it.

Love is frequently connected to the good news of the Gospel, but what did Jesus actually say about it? Much more than an emotion or “fuzzy feeling,” love for Jesus was an exercise of the will, a disposition that informs a person’s every action.

Love is a topic in all four of the Gospels, but referenced the most in the Gospel of John, which is sometimes called the “Gospel of Love.”

Below are selections from the gospels highlighting Jesus’ own words about love and how it affects our entire lives.
