Want to worship in a big church? Move to a big city!

City life can be exhausting, but it certainly has its perks. There are hundreds of options for cultural cuisine, easy travel on metro lines, and exposure to some of the largest, oldest, and most beautiful churches, known as cathedrals.

A cathedral is a church that houses the seat of a Bishop, from which he oversees his diocese. In order to properly emphasize this Office, these cathedrals are built at an impressive scale and often feature elaborate interior ornamentation, stained glass, and awe-inspiring facades.

We’ve brought together the 10 cathedrals from the largest 10 cities in the United States to give a look at some of the finest Church buildings in America!
