On World Teacher's Day, let's celebrate our children's educators.

Today is World Teacher's Day, a day organized by UNESCO that highlights the role teachers have in our lives. This year's theme is “Teachers at the heart of education recovery," in light of the impact the pandemic has had on education in general.

While we take the time to recognize how educators play a pivotal role in providing our children with the education they need for the future, it's also important to reflect on how dedicated they are to being of service, especially with the demands of the ongoing pandemic.

These 5 stories will give you a little insight into the the inspiring work our teachers do even outside of the classroom, and how those who enter this vocation deserve our gratitude and admiration.

This teacher wanted to make sure that her pupil's new baby sibling was cared for when the whole family got COVID. A remarkable act of kindness that required time, love, and a lot of responsibility!

It takes an incredible teacher to ensure that their students are not only receiving an education during COVID, but food to help fuel their minds and bodies. This schoolteacher's efforts were a real labor of love.

One of the challenges of the pandemic was to ensure kids kept to stringent levels of hygiene but were't made to feel frightened. This teacher managed to get her students to have squeaky clean hands with her ingenious idea.

Well, more like a few hundred yards, but this teacher decided to go to his student's house in his spare time to give her some extra help when she was struggling with math. He sat outside to keep COVID-safe and brought the necessary materials to help get his point across.

This teacher took the time to let her pupils' moms and dads know that they were doing a brilliant job during the pandemic. Her words were exactly what parents needed to hear, and it showed how much she realized that parents, as well as pupils, need encouragement in life, too.
