On Sunday, June 3, Cardinal Vincent Nichols raised the Church of Corpus Christi to the title of Shrine. The church, built in mid 1800s, was intended to be a place of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the center of Covent Garden in London, a purpose that it faithfully carried out for almost 150 years. The church is now celebrated as the Eucharistic Shrine of the Diocese.

Mass and a Eucharistic procession were carried out in celebration of the occasion, led by Cardinal Nichols.
